A popular Kenosha tradition will return soon.
Beach Bonfire Nights take place every Friday all summer long. Participants can enjoy small campfires built on the beach, as well as in two fire pits in the beer garden. The evenings end with a large bonfire lit at the Simmons Island Beach House in Kenosha.
The event is open to everyone, and tickets are not required. Entertainment will rotate throughout the summer, bringing live music, themed DJ nights, and other fun activities. A concessions window will sell beverages and food, including the traditional campfire treat, s’mores. The beer garden will provide alcoholic beverages.
Organizers remind everyone that the fires depend on the weather, and may be cancelled due to high winds or rain, so people should check social media for news. There are benches and chairs on the beach and in the beer garden, but everyone is welcome to bring their own. They also suggest bringing blankets for comfort.
Anyone who purchases wine or beer in the beer garden must finish it there, as it is not allowed on the beach and alcohol may not be brought from outside. Leashed pets are welcome in several areas but are not allowed on the beach itself.
The fires on the beach and in the fire pits start at 6.30 pm, and the large bonfire is lit at 8.00 pm. Friday, May 22 is the first event in the series and can be advertised with colorful Posters that organizers can find at Print shops.
