Corn Fest planned in Kenosha

An upcoming anniversary celebration will be both fun and delicious.

The Jerry Smith Farm is celebrating its 50th anniversary with one of the most popular summer events in Southeast Wisconsin—the two-day Sweet Corn Fest. The Smith Farm started in 1975 as a produce stand and has grown into a seasonal destination for people from throughout the region. The event comprises family-friendly fun, live entertainment, and of course, homegrown fresh sweet corn.

There will be artisanal vendors on site; Smitty’s Beverage Garden, which will serve adult beverages and local beer; the Carbliss Tent for people over 21 to relax and enjoy refreshing drinks; and food for everyone including smash burgers, hot dogs, brats, and more. Activities and games for the entire family are planned, and dogs on the leash are welcome.

The music schedule comprises two bands each day. First up are The Deadliners (classic rock) from 11.00 am until 2.00 pm, followed by the Smokin’ Gunz (country) from 2.00 pm until 5.00 pm. On Day Two, Crooked Fences (acoustic rock/country) plays from 11.00 am until 2.00 pm, and The Unusual Suspects (cover band) winds things up from 2.00 pm until 5.00 pm.

The festival is set for August 9 and 10, from 10.00 am until 5.00 pm both days. The Jerry Smith Farm is located at 7150 18th Street, in Kenosha. Organizers of events like this can enhance them by using banner printing to create decorations.
