Kenosha’s weekly series of concerts is coming to an end for the season.

Performances in the Tuesdays at the Shell series take place at the Sesquicentennial Bandshell in Pennoyer Park. They are presented by Happenings Magazine, the City of Kenosha, and Musicians Assisting Advancing Music (MAAM). The concerts will end with an appearance by Boys and Toys.

The Boys and Toys group celebrates the way the bands of the 1990s used amps and special effects in their stage shows. These “toys” were the tools that gave these performances their energy and electrifying excitement. Their passion for the up-to-the-minute gear and the powerful sound it created inspired the name of the band.

It has also inspired their performances, which capture the high-energy and big amps of the groups of the earlier era, creating a rock show that defines what the word “rock” means.

The current lineup comprises lead vocalist Mike Parise, who also handles the cowbell; Brad Wilson on guitar and vocals; Scott Scheuber, also on vocals and drums; and bassist and vocalist Jon Ianni.

The band first began to make a name for themselves in 1990. The members acknowledge artists like Jimmy Page, Led Zeppelin, The WHO, The Beatles, Neil Peart, and Eddie Van Halen as major influences.

Boys and Toys will perform on September 1, beginning at 6.00 pm. One way organizers can promote events like this is to use flyer printing to create handouts for audiences, including information such as a biography and the setlist.
