Kenosha has a long history of automobile manufacturing, and an upcoming event celebrates the industry.
The Kenosha History Center recently revealed the Kenosha Homecoming - Great Cars on a Great Lake (AMC/Nash Car Show) is returning. The event is a week-long celebration of American Motors Corporation (AMC vehicles).
The week kicks off on the Tuesday afternoon with the Evening Car Cruise-in at the Danish Brotherhood.
On the Wednesday, the Alfano Performance AMC Speed Shop will hold an open house, and Don’s Auto Parts & Machine Shop will hold seminars. At 5.00 pm, there will be racing at the Great Lakes Dragaway, and the Evening Car Cruise-in is at the Brat Stop.
Thursday brings more cruises, a Daytime Car Cruise-in at the Lake Andrea Beer Garden, and an Evening Car Cruise-in at the AMC Factory Site.
Friday includes the Homecoming Car Show Swap Meet, to be held at the Kennedy Park. The Jeffery Elementary School will host the Gremlin Event, and the highlight of the week, the Homecoming Car Show Parade rolls at 4.00 pm, starting at Southport Park and finishing at the Kenosha History Center Block Party.
The car show and swap meet at Kennedy Park continues Saturday, and there is racing at the Great Lakes Dragaway on Sunday at 9.00 am.
The week begins Tuesday, July 22 and winds up on Sunday, July 27. Extensive events like this can benefit if organizers work with banner printing to create signage for various locations.
