Vancouver goes to the dogs
Dogs and their owners can beat the heat in Vancouver this summer, thanks to the city’s Parks and Recreation Department.
Dog people can thank the department for the Barks in the Parks program, which is a series of pop-up dog parks taking place during the warmer months. The dog parks are temporary play areas located within three of the city’s parks. The three off-leash dog parks are being hosted in various neighborhoods so dog lovers can connect with one another while their dogs play.
One of the parks has already opened and closed; one is in the middle of its operating period; and one hasn’t opened yet. Endeavor Park’s time as a dog park is over, but Bagley Park and David Douglas Park are still inviting people to bring their dogs and enjoy the outdoors. Poster printing is often used to create signage for events like this.
The hours for the dog parks are from 4.00 pm until 8.00 pm on weekdays, and from 10.00 am until 2.00 pm on weekends. Evening hours could be added on the weekends if the park is available. If the pop-ups are successful, Vancouver might add more dog parks in future.
At Bagley Park, the pop-up event has only a few days to go and will end on August 10. However, David Douglas Park will take over the dog-hosting duties from August 12 through August 27.
