Two tribute bands will bring the music of their idols to life at a popular venue in Vancouver.
Billy Blues will be the place to be to hear Barracuda, a tribute band for Heart, as well as a Pat Benatar tribute band, All Fired Up.
Barracuda is noted for the powerful vocals of lead singer DL Car, and for the accuracy with which they play the hits of Heart, who are known for occasionally doing covers of Led Zeppelin hits. Barracuda does the same, covering the songs both bands made famous. The current lineup is six musicians strong: Car on flute and lead vocals; Sarah Moon on vocals and guitar; guitarist Tim De Quilettes; Darryl Hebert on banjo, keyboards, guitar, mandolin, and vocals; drummer Curtis Leippi; and bassist Mark Kenny.
All Fired Up is based in San Diego and covers the massive hits of Pat Benatar in the 1980s, including classics such as “Love Is a Battlefield” and “Hit Me with Your Best Shot.” The band currently comprises JD on vocals; lead guitarist Terry Carter; drummer Dan Quisenberry; and keyboardist Rich Grimolizzi. Together, they pay scrupulous attention to detail and as a result, deliver accurate covers of Benatar’s greatest hits.
The concert is set for September 25 at Billy Blues Bar and Grill, located at 7205 NE Hazel Dell Avenue. It benefits events like this when organizers use poster printing to create advertisements for them.
