Run/walk fundraiser set for Vancouver

A run/walk for a very special organization is scheduled to take place in Vancouver.

The Humane Society for Southwest Washington’s Annual Walk/Run is a great way for people to enjoy the outdoors and help a wonderful cause at the same time, the Humane Society for Southwest Washington. The society has been working to save and help animals in the community since 1897 and stop the euthanization of healthy animals because of overcrowding. They help thousands of animals annually.

The run and walk cover the same route, which begins at the Downtown Vancouver Waterfront Park, and goes east along a path that lies on the north shore of the Columbia River, providing participants with beautiful views.

The day begins with registration, and the opening of the Vendor Village at 9.00 am. Those who are taking part in the 5K run will start at 10.00 am, with the fundraising awards ceremony scheduled for 10.05 am. Walkers will start their event at 10.30 am, and the day officially ends at 2.00 pm.

The Vendor Village will give more than 50 craftspeople a chance to offer activities and items that range from suggestions on health to face painting to items designed especially for pets. Activities for pets include an agility course, costume contests, ball pits, and more, and humans will enjoy a refreshing break at the Beer and Wine Garden.

Race day is May 2. Organizers of such events can use banner printing to create course markers for the route.
