An old-fashioned string band is on the way to Vancouver.

The Hogslop String Band will appear soon in Vancouver, along with Hannah Marie Kelley. The band is based in Nashville and comprises musicians from Georgia and Tennessee. They are redefining expectations about what Old Time music is, blending psych and country with exceptional stamina that creates memorable performances. Hogslop has shared the stage with artists like Lucas Nelson, The Infamous Stringdusters, and many others.

The band’s roots are traditional southern old-fashioned string band music. Each of the band members has been familiar with the music from childhood, learning it from friends and family members, the way such traditions evolve.

Hogslop first got together in 2009 and kept insisting they were not a band until they released their first album, “The Hogslop String Band,” in 2019. Prior to that, they merely identified themselves as buddies who got together to play music. However, after they began to have some success, they began things more seriously and have now released four albums.

The band worked with Hannah Marie Kelley on the single “Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man. Kelley is known for her passionate performances and authentic songwriting that captures the soul of Appalachia. Critics call her one of the country/Americana genre’s rising stars.

Hogslop String Band and Hannah Marie Kelley will be at the Six Shooter in Vancouver on August 1. The venue is 611 Main Street, where concert organizers can use poster printing to create advertising for the show.
