Spring break is just around the corner, and not just for college students, thanks to Vancouver’s Parks and Recreation Department.
Parks and Rec recently announced registration is open for Spring Break Day Camp for children from ages six to twelve. There are two locations for the camps: the Firstenberg Community Center on 136th Avenue, and the Marshall Community Center on McLoughlin. Children attending the campus will enjoy games, crafts, and sports, while they make new friends. In addition, MAD Science will visit both locations, bringing hands-on activities for everyone to enjoy.
In order to keep everyone safe, safety protocols for COVID-19 will be in effect, and social distancing will be required, and face coverings or masks must be worn. To keep program participants as safe as possible, staff members will undergo health Checks each day to make sure they are healthy before they start work.
They will clean and sanitize the facility several times each session, and if possible, one staff member will remain with the same group of children all day, to minimize contact. Children will have their temperatures taken each day as well, and many other protocols will be observed in accordance with state regulations. Organizers can use flyer printing go create handouts listing the rules for events like this.
The camp is scheduled for April 5-9, from 8.00 am until 5.00 pm daily. Activities are planned for 9.00 am to 4.00 pm.
