Juan José Barrón will be at Burnt Bridge Cellars to bring in the new year with music. Barrón has won accolades for his ability to combine popular music's lyricism with the rigor demanded by classical music. Popular as a performer, he has also been recognized for his work as a composer, winning honors and awards in a number of countries including Mexico, Spain, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Colombia, and the United States.
Barrón was a student at the Music School of the University of Guanajuato. He won the “Andrés Segovia” Scholarship in 1991. Named for the legendary classical guitarist, the scholarship allowed him to study Spanish music in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, with Maestro José Luís Rodrigo.
