Two holidays in one in Kennewick
An upcoming event in Kennewick combines Halloween and Christmas for a unique experience.
The Nightmare Before Christmas Ball is a family-friendly evening, with benefits going to help support performing arts organizations in the Tri-Cities. The organizations are Alegrias de Mexico, Dance Connection, Mid-Columbia Ballet, Your Family’s Theatre, and Mid-Columbia Mastersingers.
At the event, local organizations will represent the spirits of Christmas and Halloween in performances on the main stage. Family dancing, a meet-and-greet with costumed characters, holiday crafts, interactive games, and face painting courtesy of Vivid Imaginations Professional Face Painting are planned, as is a silent auction.
Semi-formal or formal attire is required for the evening, but costumes are encouraged. The only restriction is that anyone coming in costume needs to be sure it is appropriate for even very young children. Anyone wearing a costume that is too frightening will not be admitted. Food trucks will be available.
Toys for Tots will be collecting new, unwrapped toys for their annual drive, and Santa will be available to make sure anyone who wants a photo with him will be able to get the shot. When events like these are planned, organizers can use flyer printing to create handouts to advertise in the local area.
The Ball is scheduled for November 4, from 5.00 pm until 8.00 pm, at the Numerica Pavilion in Kennewick. The Pavilion is located beside the Gesa Carousel of Dreams. Anyone interested should buy tickets now, since none will be sold at the door.
