Agriculture conference set for Kennewick

A conference for those involved in regenerative agronomy is coming up in Kennewick.

Regenerative agronomy, or regenerative agriculture, uses sustainable farming practices along with natural processes to create a healthier environment. It takes a holistic approach toward enhancing ecosystems, improving biodiversity, and regenerating soil. Farmers who use this method can improve the health of their soil, increase the resilience of their crops, and contribute to a food system that is more sustainable and robust. Experts are paying attention to this approach because of its potential.

Farmers and others attending the conference will learn about the latest ecological innovations, microbial technologies and strategies backed by science that challenge conventional thinking about farming and can promote soil health in the long run.

Keynote speeches, practical discussions, and panels will give attendees tools they can use on their farms, and the event will give people a chance to meet other researchers, agronomists, and farmers who share the same outlook on farming practices.

Speakers include Roy Pfaltzgraff of Pfaltzgraff Farms in Haxtun, Colorado, who is operating a 2,200-acre farm using regenerative methods; agricultural consultant Tracy Miller; biophysicist and entomologist Dr. Thomas M. Dykstra, Ph.D.; permaculture advocate, educator, and author Matt Powers; soil biologist Rion Naus; and Dr. Allan Lindsley, DC of the Midwest Natural Healing Center.

The Soilcraft Regenerative Agronomy Conference is scheduled for January 7 and 8 at the Three Rivers Convention Center in Kennewick. Professional conferences like this give attendees a chance to share Business Cards.
