An event that USA Today voted #1 Festival is coming to Kennewick.
The Tri-Cities Water Lantern Festival is a gorgeous spectacle that features the glow of lanterns sparkling on the water. These events take place throughout the country.
The Water Lantern Festival is a family friendly evening that everyone—neighbors, families, and friends—can enjoy. People attending the evening will work together to create memories that will last.
When they decorate their lanterns, people can use any message they choose. Some choose affirmations, some choose messages of love, others write down fears and anxieties and let them sail away. Once they have decided on the message, people will assemble their lantern with the paper sleeve and rods, place a LED candle inside the lantern, and launch them when they are told to do so, creating the spectacle.
Organizers say attendees should bring their ticket, wear warm clothing, or bring a blanket, and bring a camping chair to enjoy watching the lanterns. They should also bring insect repellent and a camera.
The event schedule for Kennewick starts at 3.30 pm, when the gates open. From then until 7.30 pm, music, food trucks, and fun will be the order of the evening. People will begin designing their lanterns at 6.00 pm and launch them between 6.30 pm and 7.30 pm, the time the launch ends.
The festival is scheduled for October 11 at Columbia Park in Kennewick, and can be advertised with Posters, which organizers will find in Print shops.
