What's Happening in Kennewick, WA…

Full day of music planned in Kennewick

An upcoming festival in Kennewick will fill an entire day with Latin music.

The Dale' Music Festival brings bands, fun, and cultural celebrations to the Benton County Fairgrounds in Kennewick. The Spanish word “dale” translates to “go ahead” or “do it,” in English, indicating the day will be one to remember.

The musical lineup is impressive, featuring Brown Boy, Lighter Shade of Brown, Kash & King, Paula Deanda, NB Ridaz, Lil Rob, Jovani Chavez, and AB Quintanilla & The Kumbia Allstarz. Los Tucanes de Tijuana are the headliners.

Los Tucanes De Tijuana - the name means “The Toucans of Tijuana” in English - got together in 1987 in Tijuana, Baja California. They focused on Mexican norteño music, a genre found in northeastern Mexico. Their approach to the traditional form was rougher than other groups, making them an influence on others.

They have received several awards and nominations, including five Grammy nominations and one Latin Grammy win in 2012, for their album “365 Dias.” They also won an award at the Monaco International Film Festival for their work on “Los ilegales,” a documentary. They performed at Coachella in 2019, the first regional Mexican band to do so, and earned a star on the Las Vegas Walk of Fame.

The Dale’ Music Festival is one of the year’s largest Latin music events, and it is set for September 21 from 12.00 pm until 10.00 pm. Events like this are often announced with posters, which organizers can find at print shops.
