Romantic group from Mexico comes to Kennewick
A successful Latin group is coming to Kennewick in a couple of weeks.
Los Temerarios are brother Gustavo and Adolfo Angel, who created their group in 1978, along with Fernando Angel, their cousin. They grew up with music, as their father would rent a spare room to rehearsing musicians. The two formed a group called La Brisa in 1977, and played weddings and private parties until they caught the attention of CBS Mexico, which signed them in 1983.
The band’s first efforts were upbeat and danceable ranches and cumbias, as well as corridos, meaning songs that are often about social issues. However, the band’s real breakthrough into international stardom came in 1991 when they released their album “Mi Vida Eres Tú” (“My Life Is You”), which incorporated electric bass with traditional mariachi instruments.
The line-up at that time comprised Carlos Abrego on percussion, Mario Ortiz on drums, Gustavo Angel on guitar, Adolfo Angle on keyboards, and cousin Fernando Angel handling the bass. The band has continued to record consistently and has won several awards, including a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Latin Billboard Music Awards in 2010. A review says:
Los Temerarios will be at the Toyota Center on March 4. Organizers of events like this can use brochure printing to create programs, which audiences enjoy reading to learn about performers.

“They have a sound that is so commercial yet so credible. . . . There’s almost a sort of Spanish Bruce Springsteen vibe about them.”
