River conference in Kennewick

The Columbia and Snake River system is one of the most important geographical and economical factors influencing life in the Pacific Northwest, and an upcoming conference will allow attendees to explore its value.

The Pasco Chamber of Commerce is the organizer of the upcoming RiverFest 2023, an event titled “Our Rivers, Our Life.” At this event, attendees will learn about the importance of hydropower, celebrate the local rivers, and enjoy educational exhibits. Food vendors, entertainment, live music, and hands-on experiences are also planned. The day will highlight the benefits to the area derived from the Federal Columbia River Power System, particularly the four dams on the lower Snake River. Some aspects of the rivers to be explored include power, recreation, irrigation, and navigation.

Among the subjects explored will be the current habitat and concerns about orcas that live in Puget Sound, how to protect Pacific salmon, and the way the rivers are used to irrigate the hundreds of crops grown in Washington State. The conference will also cover how the rivers are used to move goods, and recreational opportunities the rivers hold.

Riverfest 2023 is to be held on October 7, at Columbia Park in Kennewick. The celebration lasts from 10.00 am until 3.00 pm. Organizers of events like this could consider using brochure printing to create an informative booklet regarding the subject, and provide Copies to attendees.
