Latin music in Kennewick

A Latin band will be playing in Kennewick soon.

Grupo Frontera is based in Edinburg, Texas and comprises Adelaido “Payo” Solis III who handles vocals and bajo quinto, vocalist and accordionist Juan Javier Cantú, percussionist Julian Peña Jr., Alberto "Beto" Acosta on bajo quinto, drummer Carolos Guerrero, and bassist Carlos Zamora.

Grupo Frontera, usually styled simply “Frontera,” began their recording career in 2019, covering norteño and Latin pop tunes. Frontera’s cover of “No Se Va” by Morat made it to the charts late in 2022, and in December of that year, a collaboration called "Bebé Dame," which the group made with Fuerza Regida, climbed to the No. 1 spot on Billboard Hot Latin Songs charts, and made it all the way to No. 25 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The band reached the Top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 203, with “Unx100to,” a collaboration with Bad Bunny. The response to the success of the record was for Frontera to announce the tour that will now bring them to Kennewick. Billboard wrote that the success of Frontera is one of the reasons the genre known as “Regional Mexican” music has broken through into the mainstream. A review says:

“Their 1st real concert . . . Would go see them over and over again!”

Grupo Frontera will be at the Toyota Center on August 12 at 8:00 pm. When events like this are scheduled, organizers can create advertising by using poster printing.
