Kennewick has an entire day of fun planned to celebrate the 4th of July.
The strikingly named River of Fire Festival has been ongoing in Kennewick for over 30 years. The name refers to the fact the fireworks, which are launched from a barge in the middle of the Columbia, light up the river. Everyone is encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs and claim a spot to enjoy the sight. Outdoor events like this are the perfect place for organizers to use Banners to define the areas, which they can create using banner printing.
In addition to the fireworks, there will be a Kids Zone where little ones will find bounce houses, options for various types of face painting, challenging obstacle courses, and fun games.
Everyone will enjoy Food Truck Alley, where a variety of trucks will offer many different options for foodies to try.
From 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm, the Beer Garden will be open, inviting people to sample craft brews from local breweries in a relaxing atmosphere.
Live entertainment will be provided by Rancho Unido, and Shanks Pony. Rancho Unido is based in nearly Pasco, and offers Latin music with a mariachi influence. Shanks Pony is a four-piece outfit that plays “Southern funk-rock.” Both bands will perform throughout the evening.
The festival is July 4, from 2:00 pm until 10:00 pm, at Kennewick’s Columbia Park. The park is on the river, which will give everyone a spectacular view. After 12:00 pm, parking is free.
