A fundraising event is coming up that will help raise money to support animal organizations in the Tri-Cities area.
The Paws for a Cause concert will feature Color Blind, a popular local band, as the headliner, and will take place at the Clover Island Inn, in an outdoor setting. The band and dancing are just the beginning of the fun, as a dinner will be served banquet style, beverages will be served as well, and raffles and silent and live auctions will be held.
Color Blind is based in Kennewick and first got together in 2001. Their sound is straight-ahead rock, with heavy guitars coupled with high energy and strong vocals. When events like this are scheduled, organizers can use poster printing to create advertising highlighting the entertainment.
The proceeds raised at this event will be divided equally between Friends of TCAS and POPP. Friends of TCAS help support the Tri-Cities Animal Shelter, which is in Pasco. The shelter offers pet adoptions as well as opportunities for people to foster animals.
POPP stands for Pet Overpopulation Prevention Tri-Cities. This organization educates the public with regard to the benefit of spaying and neutering their pets, which is the responsible thing for pet owners to do. POPP also provides assistance with these procedures, and helps find homes for homeless, abandoned, and/or feral pets. Working together, the two organizations help reduce pet overpopulation, and find forever homes for animals.
