Fun holiday event in Kennewick

An upcoming event will give people a chance to do some holiday shopping indoors in an amazing location.

The Snowed in Bazaar will be held at the Gesa Carousel of Dreams, a true, old-fashioned “merry-go-round” that is one of Kennewick’s most popular attractions. Visitors to the bazaar will enter a winter wonderland where they will find vendors with a wide variety of unique products, including everything from homemade tasty food treats to craft items. Since they are made by local artisans, these will be entirely unique products. Hot coffee or cocoa will keep everybody warm, as will enjoying seasonal music, plus the fact that shoppers will be able to cross some items off their gift lists.

The Gesa Carousel of Dreams dates back to 1910, when it was an attraction at the Silver Beach Amusement Park in St. Joseph, Michigan. Charles Carmel carved each horse to be unique, which added to the charm of the ride. The carousel was dismantled in 1972 and moved to Roswell, New Mexico, where its new caretaker, Marianne Stevens, protected the beautiful horses. Finally, the horses were packed carefully and moved to Kennewick, to bring an old-fashioned ride back to life.

The Snowed in Bazaar is scheduled for December 10, from 12.00pm until 4.00pm. The Carousel is at 2901 Southridge Boulevard. Events like this can benefit when organizers use poster printing to create colorful advertising.
