Tim Allen has been in the limelight for decades, appearing in numerous films and in the long-running television series “Home Improvement.” He was born in Denver but grew up in Michigan where he graduated from Western Michigan University in 1976, with a Bachelor of Science in communications, with specialization in television and radio production.
His career began almost by accident, when a friend dared him to take part in a comedy night at a club near Detroit. He began to get work in the area, but ran into trouble with the law, and after prison, relocated to Los Angeles. He soon became a regular at The Comedy Store, and performed stand-up routines on late-night TV shows, film, and records.
His stand-up routine provided much of the foundation for Tim Taylor, the character he played on “Home Improvement,” which ran from 1991 to 1999. Even as he worked on the series, he was offered film roles, including playing Santa himself in “The Santa Clause,” which was a smash hit. A review of Tim Allen live says:
“We laughed the whole time, Tim is funny as hell.”
A Night of Comedy with Tim Allen is scheduled for September 13, at the Toyota Center Tri-Cities in Kennewick. When promoters scheduled events like this, they frequently use poster printing to advertise them.
