Childrens show goes live in Kennewick

A popular television show is trotting into Kennewick on its four paws.

PAW Patrol is a successful animated television series now entering its tenth season. It is a Canadian production that began broadcasting in 2013, and was picked up in the United States the same year. The show features Ryder, a young boy, as the leader of the PAW Patrol, a group of search and rescue canines, each of which is patterned after a specific emergency responder, such as a pilot or firefighter.

A live stage show featuring the characters from the series has been touring successfully since 2016. There are three different versions of the show, “Heroes Unite,” “Race to the Rescue,” and “The Great Pirate Adventure.” “Heroes Unite” is the production that will be presented in Kennewick, in which people dressed in oversized dog suits play popular characters like Marshall, Rocky, and Tracker.

In this show, Mayor Humdinger has “dognapped” and cloned Robo Dog, causing a worldwide upset. PAW Patrol members must round up the clones and save Robo Dog, and will even need help from audience members to complete their mission.

Part of PAW Patrol’s aim is to introduce children to live theater, and encourage a love of this art form. PAW Patrol will be at the Toyota Center March 29 at 3.00pm, and March 30 at 10.00am and 2.00pm. Organizers of shows like this will often reach out to printing companies that use poster printing to create advertising for the events.
