Residents and visitors are familiar and look forward to the celebration of asparagus each year in Pasco, just a short drive from Kennewick. The Asparagus and Brews 2020 will soon be kicking off the annual event at Middleton Farms.
Ag Season highlights each year in the Columbia Basin offering a full range of fruits and vegetables harvested from that area. Known as the ‘king of vegetables’, Asparagus is the star of the festival and is home grown in this part of the region.
Attendees will have a chance to meet farmers and learn how the asparagus is grown and methods used to harvest the vegetable. All of the food vendors will create entrees with asparagus as the key ingredient.
Family-friendly activities include jumping pillows, slides, a grain train, trikes and the Ballzone. Music will be provided by Stompin Ground and Knutzen Brothers.
Banner printing is a standard request for local Print shops for events of this nature. The Banners contain information that can be quickly and easily seen at a distance. Printed on heavy vinyl they can withstand weather elements for quite some time.
Free samplings of asparagus prepared in well-known as well as unique ways will be available. Some of the types include pickled, grilled and fried. Specialties include Asparagus Juice by Ethos Bakery and Asparagus Ice Cream provided by Country Mercantile.
The asparagus festival will take place June 13 from 4:00-10:00 p.m.
