A celebration of Bellingham’s maritime heritage and everything connected to it, including food, is coming to the city.
Bellingham SeaFeast is a free, two-day festival that shows off the city’s working waterfront, promotes water conservation, and celebrates the seafood and commercial fishing industries. A major part of the fun is the chance to feast on the bounty found in the Pacific Northwest.
Among the participants this year will be seafood vendors serving everything from fish n’ chips to seafood tacos. A Beer, Wine & Cider Garden is planned on the shore of Squalicum Harbor, and traditional BBQ salmon will be grilled by members of the Lummi Nation, a practice that honors their strong connection to the sea and land as well as their culture.
Youngsters and those who like sweet treats might prefer the Root Beer Garden, where Mallard Ice Cream will be featured, presumably to make root beer floats, and fresh seafood will be available for purchase at the Dockside Market.
In addition to the wonderful fresh seafood, the festival offers interactive cultural experiences, art vendors, musical entertainment, boat rides of the harbor and the coast, and much more.
SeaFeast 2025 is scheduled for September 27 and 28 at various locations in Bellingham, primarily Zuanich Point Park and Squalicum Harbor. Some activities take place at Fisherman’s Pavilion, the Squalicum Boathouse, in the park’s open space, and along the docks. Festivals like this can benefit when organizers use flyer printing to create handouts listing events and vendors.
