Cellar Muse, based in Seattle, will be starting a new Spanish Wine Scholar certification program of the Wine Scholar Guild next month in Bellevue.
Tanya Morning Star Darling, founder of Cellar Muse; and a colleague, Ezra Wicks, will be teaching the course. It will cover the wine-producing regions of Spain and includes topics such as grape varieties, cultivation of wine, history, and regional traditions and food.
Upon completion of the course, attendees will be able to take the Spanish Wine Scholar examination. Passing the test will provide the scholar with a diploma and allows them to add the letters SWS (Spanish Wine Scholar) after their name.
Promotional initiatives like brochure printing are often used to provide greater details about such programs, including costs, meeting times, and sessions.
Darling said that this is a program of study of Spanish wines that has academic rigor and depth. She expressed how thrilled she was to be able to offer the program through Cellar Muse and to enable its students to learn a new specialization, be challenged, and also enjoy themselves. Washington State has also approved Cellar Muse for teaching the Italian Wine and French Wine Scholar programs.
The program will be offered on Monday evenings, from October 28 through December 16, at the Cepae Tasting Room in Bellevue.
