The Bellevue International Festival returns next month to Crossroads Park.
Hosted by the city of Bellevue, this is the third year of the festival. Featured at the festival will be live dance and music performances, a number of vendors, food trucks, and tables where there will be community information, giveaways, and family-friendly things to do.
Sara Boyle, head of diversity, equity and inclusion for the city, said the festival celebrates the diverse communities and cultures in the community and has become an annual event that the city proudly supports. She added:
“The festival is an opportunity to renew our commitment to our city’s vision of welcoming the world and celebrating diversity as our strength.”
The city is currently inviting cultural groups and performers to apply to participate in the festival. Those who are selected to perform in the festival will present work that reflects multicultural artistic collaborations, contemporary interpretations of cultural expression, and cultural traditions. Those who can perform include community-based organization, individual performers, emerging and professional artists, and youth and intergenerational groups. Those who are selected will receive an honorarium; a green room on the day of the event; and professional stage, sound and basic technical support.
The festival will be from noon to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday August 8. Poster printing can be used to promote such unique events throughout a city.
