Bellevue offers grants for transforming public spaces

A second round of Community Programming Fund grants is being launched by the city of Bellevue.

Free activities led by the community are supported by these grants. Such activities transform parks, plazas, and other outdoor spaces open to the public into lively, welcoming, and popular areas that support local business, encourage people to gather, and build connections between the city and the community.

The funding has been increased by the city to $200,000. Individual grants will be awarded in amounts up to $20,000.

The chief economic development officer of Bellevue, Jesse Canedo, said that this funding is more than investing in events. Canedo added that it helps public spaces to become assets of the community. The guidelines are designed to promote projects that focus on the visitor experience and economic vitality.

Brochure printing can be used to provide more information about such funding and the application process.

The program will provide funding for a diverse array of community-led initiatives, with special emphasis on local markets, small-scale event series, and activities designed to enhance the experience for both visitors and residents during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Eligible applicants include individuals, community and non-profit organizations, and small businesses proposing programming that centers on community engagement and local impact.

The period to apply for this funding is now open and will close in early March. Notification of awards will be made in April.
