Bellevue opens applications for civic engagement program

Applications are now being accepted for Bellevue Essentials, the civic engagement program in Bellevue, which will last for 10 weeks.

This course offers residents a behind-the-scenes look at city government and is designed to teach attendees how decisions are made in the city of Bellevue, as well as highlight how residents can contribute to their community.

Bellevue Essentials employs immersive and interactive learning so that participants experience the daily operations and structure of the city government. They will be able to see the collaboration, challenges, and work of the staff, and will finish the course with a greater awareness of volunteer opportunities, an expanded personal network, and the knowledge of how to make an impact on decision making in the city.

Such programs can benefit from brochure printing to provide more details about their topics and what the advantages are of attending them.

Tuition for the program is $150. The session in the fall runs from Wednesday, September 10 through Wednesday, November 12 from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. There will be one class on a Tuesday evening and a field trip on a Saturday afternoon to the parks and neighborhoods of Bellevue. Participants need to attend at least eight of the ten sessions to be deemed to have completed the program.

Applications are due by 5:00 pm on Wednesday, July 23.
