The Diversity Advantage Plan (DAP) 2035 has been adopted by the City Council of Bellevue.
This is a strategic plan for the entire city over the next 10 years that will define actions to create a more equitable community in the city.
There are 42 equity objectives in the plan that are part of the strategic target areas of the council. The focus of the plan is on both the internal practice and culture of the organization and community-facing services.
In this plan, the City Council is committed to creating more meaningful access to the programs and services of the city, being engaged more authentically with the community, connecting the equity work of the city to other priorities and strategic work, providing the support staff and resources need to apply an equity lens to the services and operations of the city, measuring its success and progress, and communicating its progress with the community and staff.
Details about such plans and their ramifications for a community are often made known with flyer printing.
Input for the plan came from engagement with the community, as well as from both community and staff through separate methods and events. The city is currently working on implementing actions in the short term so it can make progress on the plan and measure its impact.
