The 2026-2030 Sustainable Bellevue Plan has been adopted by the city of Bellevue. This will enable the city to achieve its goal of carbon neutrality by 2050.
The actions of the city will be guided by the plan over the next five years across a variety of sustainability topics. Among the areas the city will focus on will include energy usage, waste and materials, climate change, land use and mobility, and the natural systems of the city. Efforts and electrifying the fleet and municipal operations are leading by example as the city stands to achieve its goals by 2040.
There are 41 strategies in the plan that enable the city to bolster the reliance of the community to the impacts of climate and to meet its sustainability goals. The plan describes how to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and focuses on access to options for mobility, the tree canopy in the city, and other issues related to sustainability.
Brochure printing is one way to disseminate more details about such plans to residents of a city.
Mayor Lynne Robinson said that this plan outlines the next phase of the commitment of the city to a resilient, thriving, and healthy community for many years to come. She added that it will be a roadmap for how the city will prepare for the impact of the change on climate over the next five years.
