Project proposals from affordable housing operators and developers are being requested by the Office of Housing of the city of Bellevue, Proposals can be up to close to $25 million.
The Housing and Stability Program (HSP) of Bellevue is providing up to $13.95 million of the funding with up to $11 million from housing reserves of the city.
HSP funds can be used for new construction and capital for the purchase of property as well as maintenance, operations, and related on-site services for households earning below 60 percent of the median income in the area. Eligible HSP projects this year can also qualify for $11 million from the city housing reserves.

A need was identified by the Affordable Housing Strategy of the city to build or preserve 5,700 affordable units over the next 10 years. It was found that the need was greatest for those earning 50 percent or less of the median income in the area. The round of funding this year in addition to the capital investment by the city of $37 million last year will enable it to increase its progress towards the goal of the city to expand housing opportunities for everyone.
Project proposals are due on Friday September 11 by 5:00 p.m.
