Brad Miyake, city manager of Bellevue, has announced the appointment of two new city officials.

The new deputy city manager of internal services is Joseph Todd while Lucy Liu, who has been serving as acting utilities director, is now the permanent director of the Utilities Department. Such new appointments often call for the need for business card printing services.

Todd has experience in both the private and public sectors as a technology executive and corporate strategist. His most recent position was senior director of core infrastructure at Marqeta, a payment tech firm. Previously he has had technology and leadership roles with the city of Tukwila and King County as well as with Alaksa Airlines and Boeing.

Liu has worked for the city of Bellevue for the past 21 years, most recently as deputy director of the Utilities Department. He has 30 years of experience in finance, management, and utilities with 26 years of experience in the public sector. She started her career with the state Department of Revenue and with Ernst & Young LLP.

Miyake said that Todd has over 20 years of relevant leadership and technical experience from a diverse range of organizations which will enable the city to continue to lead, innovate, and meet the most pressing challenges of the community. He added that Liu has skills in utilities, people management, finance, and budgeting and is a strong strategic leader.
