Bellevue youth seek coats for the needy

The 13th annual Kids Care Coat Drive is being held this month by the Bellevue Youth Link, a program that enables young people in the city of Bellevue to be engaged in and give back to the community.

The event is sponsored by the Bellevue Public Schools, Parks and Community Service Department, and the City.

The Mini-City Hall, City Hall, and all four community centers in Bellevue are serving as drop-off locations for coats. The children and volunteers will collect and distribute the coats to those in need throughout the city.

Last year, over 3,500 coats were collected and distributed to families in Bellevue through the Kids Care Coat Drive. Since the drive began in 2004, the drive has collected over 10,000 coats.

Bel-Red Storage provides storage for the coats and the Home Depot in Bellevue will provide Boxes for the donations. These are just two of the local businesses that are supporting the coat drive.

The Crossroad Community Center in Bellevue will be where the coats can be picked up by families experiencing challenges. They may do this from 5:00 to 7:00 pm this Tuesday, November 21.

The use of flyer printing companies can help persuade the community to donate clothing and other goods and highlight any opportunities that enable the youth in the community to make a difference.
