Several events are planned for Bellevue in the upcoming months.
Last Leaf Productions will be hosting a free, family-friendly theater on the lawn of the Northwest Arts Center. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy a picnic dinner. Patricia Haines-Ainsworth, playwright and director of Last Leaf, said she enjoys collaborating with the city on selecting plays that will be enjoyed by the community. She added that outdoor theater enables actors to interact and engage with the audience directly.
“Who Stole the Queen of Hearts’ Tarts?” by Haines-Ainsworth is the next performance and will be next Wednesday, August 10, beginning at 6:30 pm.
The Bellevue Downtown Association will be hosting its breakfast series talks. Community leaders and local businesses discuss issues that affect the making and the growth of the downtown area. These talks typically include a plated breakfast, a moderated program, and the chance to network with other businesspeople both before and after the talk.
Such events are often promoted throughout the community with poster printing.
All talks take place at the Bellevue Club on Tuesdays and from 7:30 to 9:00 am. The first talk will be on September 13, with the topic yet to be determined. This will be followed by a talk on the future of retail and the downtown experience on October 25, and ‘A Great Place to Live: Downtown's Residential Boom’ on December 13.
