Bellevue to hold special health fair

The city of Bellevue will be hosting a Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration and Health Fair this month.

The event will be virtual and will provide an opportunity for people to engage, reflect, and work to build a thriving and healthy city in the spirit of the legacy of community and equity of Dr. King.

Community support and health resources will be shared at the event. There will also be guest speakers and entertainment from local musicians, and businesses owned by people of color will be showcased. Remarks will be given by leaders from the city. Poster printing companies are often used to promote such events in that displays can be created to be posted throughout a community to inform them about such important resources.

The event is made possible due to a partnership between the Bellevue Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and the city of Bellevue. The Society was founded in January 1913 by 22 women at Howard University. The members of the Sorority work to maintain the legacy of the society in the community to ensure equity in the community and to serve the residents of color in the city of Bellevue.

The Health Fair will be held from 10:00 to 11:30 am on Monday, January 17. The event is free and open to the public, but registration in advance is recommended.
