A new grant program of $1.8 million is being launched by the city of Bellevue that will help non-profit organizations in the area to acquire, build and maintain cultural and art facilities.
The program aims to highlight the commitment of the city to showcasing and fostering the vibrant cultural and arts scene in the city.
The funds are for non-profit organizations based in Bellevue who are looking for these facilities and their equipment. Projects can be from 2023 and 2024 and those scheduled from 2025 to 2026. The city is offering support to help applicants prepare successful proposals with one-on-one assistance from a professional grant writing team.
A panel from the community will review the applications and will make the awards with recommendations from the Arts Commission. Then, the City Council will approve the awards. Poster printing can be used throughout a city to promote such funding opportunities with more information about how to apply for them.
Mayor Lynne Robinson said that the non-profit and community partners often comment about the lack of space as a major barrier in delivering important cultural and art experiences in the city. She added that these funds will ensure that the creative community in Bellevue will have the facilities they need to create accessible and meaningful culture and arts programming to the residents, visitors, and the workforce.
The deadline for applications to the program is Monday, August 19.
