In the small to mid-size city ranking, Livability.com placed Bellevue at 14th best in the country on its recently released ‘Top 100 Best Places to Live’ list. Additionally, the city was ranked No.1, for its size, in the state.
Bellevue attributes that contributed to its high ranking were the availability of post-secondary education at the City University of Seattle and Bellevue College, as well as the quality of its primary and middle school education system. Also mentioned were the proximity of the Cascade Mountains and the several public parks dotted all over the city.
A high ranking on a list such as this one is good advertisement for a city. Several industries can use this information to their advantage. For instance, the Bellevue city government might ask its Stationery printer to include the city’s livability ranking in Brochures and Letterheads. Another possibility is that real estate agents might request their catalog printing service to include that information in their next hand-out.
At the Livability.com site, cities were given a short bio of what made them special. Apparently, cities with what would normally be considered ideal weather did not receive special consideration. Evidence of this is that locations that are no stranger to snow shoveling nevertheless ranked high, such as the number one pick Madison, Wisconsin and second-ranked Rochester, Minnesota.
