Bellevue becomes home to new Nordstrom Rack store

A Nordstrom Rack store recently opened at Lincoln Square in Bellevue. This makes it the eighth such store in the state of Washington.

The grand opening of the store was at 8:00 am on September 7 with a ‘Rally at the Rack’, and the store officially opened at 9:00 am with special celebrations, including music and food. Prizes such as a $1,000 shopping spree and gift cards worth $100 were also given out.

This store is 43,000 square feet in size and part of the developer Kemper Freeman’s plans to expand in downtown Bellevue. The developer recently built a mixed-use development spanning 1.5 million square feet just south of the development at Lincoln Square. The Lincoln Square development is 42 stories in height.

Nordstrom opened its first store in downtown Seattle in the 1970s, with the first Nordstrom Rack store being in the basement of the store. It has since moved to the Westlake Center Mall, adjacent to the store. Over the years, Nordstrom Rack has become the upscale discount brand of the original store, and this is its 221st such store.
