Bellevue annual health fair to celebrate MLK

The Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK) Celebration and Health Fair will take place next week.

This event, which is help once a year, celebrates Reverend King’s legacy and focuses on responding to health and racial inequalities in the community. The theme for this year’s event is “Reinvesting in Health,” and will feature holistic wellness presentations from partners in the community, youth-oriented discussions on racial equity and health, remarks from city leaders, and performances from local artists. Among the artists at the event will be dance performances from Vania C. Bynum and original songs from Roz Music.

Community and health resources will also be shared at the Health Fair with a showcasing of black-owned businesses and special guest speakers. The Health Fair is free to attend and is open to the public.

More details about such special events are often highlighted with flyer printing.

The MLK Celebration has been put together through a partnership between the city and the Bellevue Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. The organizers of the MLK Celebration and Health Fair believe that it is important to bridge the gap in the health disparities that may exist in the city by providing needed information to encourage medical cultural competence.

The event will be held online from 10:00am to 11:30am on Monday, January 16.
