Bellevue resident, Scott Issacs has been awarded a patent for an Airborne Fulfillment Center for Amazon. Issacs and two others from Seattle, Paul William Berg and Kelsey Lynn Blodgett were awarded the patent for the floating warehouse concept.
The patent shows fulfillment centers, which will be suspended in the air, held up by blimps. It isn’t clear if Amazon will ever create these warehouses but if they were they would certainly be the subject of Promotional Products for the company. Sounding like something out of a science fiction film, one could imagine customers taking tours and purchasing souvenirs.
Awarded by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the patent creates an image of the floating warehouse accessible by drones, which will be used to obtain products from the warehouse. The warehouse reportedly could be suspended as high as 45,000 feet. The products would be gathered from the warehouse and taken down to earth by the drones.
Creators of the futuristic patent imagined sports fans inside a packed stadium being able to order products from their seats and have them delivered right to their chairs. One could order a Seattle Seahawks Jersey for example in the middle of the playoffs to wear proudly during the event.
Although the concept has a long way to go, it is a creative idea and in line with what Amazon has already achieved: it’s first successful drone delivery took place at the end of 2016 in England.Get a Free Quote for Promotional Products
