Darlingside comprises David Senft, Harris Paseltiner, Auyon Mukharji, and Don Mitchell, and All Songs Considered describes their style as:
“. . . exquisitely arranged, literary-minded, baroque folk-pop . . .”
Darlingside started as a five-piece group in 2009, when the members were students at Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Sam Kapala, who left the group in 2013, was part of the original band.
The band toured nationally for the first time in 2010, and released “EP 1,” a studio EP. They followed that with “Pilot Machines,” their full-length debut album, which dropped in 2012. The album earned a comment from Rolling Stone’s David Fricke, who wrote that the band had:
“. . .[a] rich line in acoustic textures and chamber-rock dynamics.”
They have released 10 albums to date, dropping the latest, “Everything Is Alive” in 2023. Their recording career that started in 2010 continued when they released their second EP, “Whippoorwill,” in 2016, which was also the year Darlingside was named “Artist of the Year” by Folk Alliance International. Their live engagements included a performance at the Vancouver Folk Music Festival in 2018, and they supported Patty Griffin at concerts at such famous venues as the Fillmore and Ryman Auditorium.
Darlingside will be at The Stone Church on Sunday, July 12. When organizers plan concerts like this, they can use poster printing to create colorful advertisements to promote the event.
