An organization in Springfield is planning an event to show appreciation to veterans.
Legacy Martial Arts is the venue for a Veterans Appreciation Sound Bath. As a special incentive, the event is a “BOGO.” People who buy a ticket will receive a second one free. The day is a chance for participants to recharge, restore and honor the participants, especially the veterans. Practitioners will use sound waves and crystal bowls to enhance relaxation and meditation.
Sound baths are an ancient form of healing, used in many cultures, including Buddhist and Tibetan traditions. There is no water involved, instead, participants are “bathed” in waves of sound from instruments such as chimes, bells, tuning forks, gongs, singing bowls, and even didgeridoos. According to experts, sound baths are relatively inexpensive, non-invasive, and low-tech ways to create relaxation.
People are asked to bring their own yoga mats, and enjoy a chance to connect with others. The event is also a fundraiser, with part of the proceeds going to the Operation Renewed Hope Foundation. The foundation provides housing and support to veterans who are experiencing homelessness, as well as a range of services, such as providing bus and taxi fare.
The sound bath is set for November 8, from 4.00 pm until 5.00 pm. Legacy Martial Arts is located at 7200 Fullerton Road. When they plan events like this, organizers can advertise in the local area using handouts created with flyer printing.
