An upcoming evening is part of the on-going concert series Thursday Night Live at The St. James, and features a performance by Marilyn Hucek. The artist is an American-Chilean singer/songwriter from Washington, D.C.
Hucek’s career began when she was a child, spurred by her father’s struggle with Alzheimer’s. She wrote a song in his honor, becoming a songwriter before she learned to play guitar and piano. That song turned into her debut single, and the beginning of her full-time career in music.
Since then, Hucek has performed live in over 150 venues, dropped two EPs, and had her material streamed more than four million times. She is using her platform to increase awareness of Alzheimer's.
The artist is currently a student at the Los Angeles Academy for Artists and Music Production (LAAMP), a prestigious organization, with Chris Anokute as her mentor. She is currently working on her first album. A review of a concert says:
“As long as she can recall, Marilyn Hucek has had one dream: to be a pop star. The pursuit of that dream advanced to a new chapter on a recent evening . . .”
The concert is scheduled for September 11 at the St. James Hotel, located at 6805 Industrial Road. Organizers who plan events like this can publicize them with Posters, which they can order at Print shops.
