An event that was a huge success last year is back for the second time.
The All-White Affair Vol. 2 is hosted by Sasso Productions and will take place at the Waterford Event Center. The gala is exactly what it sounds like: a sophisticated celebration in which the guests are asked to dress in all-white clothing.
Sasso Productions is hosting the evening, which brings community members together to enjoy good music, and be with people who help one another feel less unsettled about being away from home, which in this case is Sierra Leone, and the Salone culture. The elegant evening features music, dancing, and a chance to network with others who share the culture. Special events such as this often benefit when organizers use poster printing to create sophisticated advertising to encourage people to attend.
The first white party is thought to have occurred in the 1980s as a fundraiser for AIDS and HIV. In France in 1988, François Pasquier hosted a white party for 10,000 guests who only learned the location the day of the event, and the tradition was then adopted by many organizations in the Black community.
The All-White Affair Vol. 2 is scheduled for September 6, from 9.00 pm until 3.00 am the following morning at the Waterford Event Center, located at 6715 Commerce Street in Springfield.
