Halloween event planned in Springfield
Three local organizations are teaming up to host a family-friendly event.
Perfect Point Music & Dance, FLIGHT Adventure Park, and Legacy Martial Arts have partnered to host the upcoming Trunk-or-Treat event, which is free for everyone to enjoy. In addition to Trunk-or-Treat, organizers are planning a costume contest, fun activities and games like arts and crafts, chalk drawing, a photo booth, and more. A special Treats Truck will be on site, where people will be able to purchase additional drinks and snacks.
In recent years, Trunk-or-Treat events have become more common in communities throughout the country. They comprise people lining up their vehicles and distributing candy from the trunks or the back of their vehicles. Holding these events in a public place avoids having youngsters walk door-to-door, sometimes in neighborhoods they do not know well.
When organizers plan large events like this, they might choose to advertise them with posters, which they can have made at local print shops.
Springfield’s Trunk-or-Treat will take place on Saturday, October 11, from 2.00 pm until 5.00 pm, at Flight Adventure Park, 7200 Fullerton Road. Everyone is encouraged to come in costume, even if they do not plan to enter the contest. Young people under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, and parking at the venue is free.
