Springfield will be the location of a conference on a wide variety of issues next month, many dealing with climate change.
The conference hosts are the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), MGMT, and the Office of the Chief Readiness Support Officer (OCRSO). OCRSO’s mission is to ensure the DHS is ready to fulfill its mission by planning, managing, and governing logistics, assets, real property, and sustainability. In short, OCRSO enables efficient support of the DHS and its missions. Since there are many “moving parts” to maintaining something as complex as national security, the conference is divided into many different workshops. Attendees are encouraged to choose those that are most interesting to them, or relevant to their mission.
Many of the subjects are narrow in scope. For instance, one session is entitled “Net Zero is a Net Plus for DHS: How Data from Across DHS Will Guide Us to Our Goal.” The talk will examine whether it is necessary to achieve Net-Zero emissions to combat climate change.
A second session is scheduled to discuss “DHS-Wide Workplace Transformation: Concept and Design.” Participants will be provided with an overview of the efforts of the DHS to make its portfolio of real property as effective as possible.
The symposium is a full day, from 8.00 am until 5.00 pm on June 7, at the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) headquarters in Springfield. Many sessions are running concurrently, and organizers might like to use brochure printing to create programs describing session content.
