Alexandria residents will get to experience culture from over 30 countries at the Around the World Cultural Food Festival coming to Old Alexandria at the end of this month.
Ethnic cuisine will be available for purchase while showcasing, teaching, and educating festival attendees about the culture associated with that food. The venue will also offer a folk show featuring dancers, bands, singers, and musicians. Some groups will hold cultural activities and karate/judo classes for children.
More than 75 artisans and crafters will be on hand selling everything for jewelry, art, paperwork, and plush toys to honey, teas, cashmere items, woodworking, and succulents. Other vendors will be selling handmade clothing and accessories, and direct sales will be available from Avon, Scentsy, and Mary Kay-type companies, as well as commercial vendors such as travel agencies, home food services, and home improvement.
Many vendors will be presenting their merchandise on 30-minute spots on a special Facebook Live Event taking place during the festival. Local non-profits will be handing out information about their missions, goals, programs, locations, and hours of operation.
Nine sponsorship levels are available, ranging from $1,500 to $25,000. Every sponsor will get the opportunity to display its Logo Design at designated spots around the venue. Some areas include the VIP lounge, beer garden, and food pavilions.
The Around the World Cultural Food Festival will be from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm at its new venue, Oronoco Bay Park at 100 Madison Street, on Saturday, August 27.
