Volunteer America will be recognizing some of Alexandria’s most notable volunteers at its 45th annual Volunteers Are the Heart of Alexandria event in mid-March.
Community volunteers, business partners, city officials, and nonprofit leaders will be in attendance for the community celebration and formal recognition that honors food pantries, youth mentoring, senior assistance, and general nonprofit operations. Award recipients will have trees planted in their names. This year's honorary chair will be Alexandria's Mayor Alyia Gaskins.
Awards will be given in Adult, Youth, Senior, and Family Volunteer service. The Business/Corporate Volunteer award will go to an outstanding business that has employee volunteers, participates in community partnerships, and sponsors fundraising events. Awards will also go to a nonprofit group, a community resilience/emergency preparedness volunteer, and a community leader.
From 6:15 pm to 7:30 pm, guests will be treated to music and appetizers and will get to mingle and meet awardees. The Awards program will run from 7:30 pm to 8:45 pm. Six sponsorship levels are available ranging from $1,000 to $7,500.
When given the opportunity to distribute Promotional Products, many sponsors opt to bring promotional Pens as they are small and easily transported.
This year's volunteering recognition end will take place on Thursday, March 12,
from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm at the American Physical Therapy Association Headquarters Rooftop, 3030 Potomac Avenue, Suite 100.
