Runners and walkers here in Alexandria will be heading to the Old Town waterfront to take part in this year's PNC Alexandria Half later this month.
The event will have three races – the Half Marathon, 5k, and Kids’ Dash. Participants in the Half Marathon will be treated to the scenic Potomac corridor as they run about five miles out and back on the George Washington Parkway. The 5k runners/walkers will also use the parkway.
Pre-registration for the Half Marathon will be $115 and $55 for the 5k. The Kids’ Dash will cost $20.
Swag will include technical race shirts, chip timing and race bibs, finisher medals, and free race photos and downloads. Light snacks such as pretzels, granola, water, fruit, and electrolyte drinks will be available after the race. Port City Brewing will also host a beer garden post-race offering one free beer to each adult runner and additional brews for purchase. Those running in the Kids’ Dash will receive race bibs, finisher medals, and snacks after the race.
Large races like this often turn to local Print shops for their paper products like course maps, race bibs, and any banner printing.
This year's PNC Alexandria Half will take place on Sunday, April 26 beginning and ending in Old Town Alexandria, 100 Madison Street. The Half Marathon and the 5k will begin at 7:00 am with the Kids’ Dash starting at 10:30 am.
