The traditional Taste of Scotland and the Alexandria Scottish Christmas Walk Parade will return to Alexandria in early December.
Guests who attend the Taste of Scotland will be able to sample whiskies from around the globe, including 30 kinds of Scotch. Experts will be giving talks on whisky education, and an open bar will be serving wine, beer, and other beverages. The event will be a catered affair and there will be games and activities, such as a taste testing contest.
Guests are encouraged to wear family tartans or plaid clothing. Campagna Center programs that serve families and children facing educational challenges will receive all the proceeds from the event.
Taste of Scotland will take place on Friday, December 5 from 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm at the ALX Community Atrium, 277 A Washington St. Suite 210.
The following morning, December 6 from 8:00 am to 11:00 am, the Alexandria Scottish Christmas Walk Parade 2025 will gather at 530 South Saint Asaph Street in Old Alexandria and at 11:00 am will proceed north on King Street, ending at around 1:00 pm at Market Square and City Hall. Spectators will be treated to pipe and drum bands, Scottish clans clad in their colorful tartans, hounds and terriers, and local groups.
Stationery printers often use pictures of Scottish clans in their tartan colors on international notecard sets.
